1. Confirm the Correct Vehicle Version
Choose the exact Model 3, Model 3 Highland or Model Y version because trunk-lid geometry differs between vehicles.
2. Clean & Degrease the Surface
Remove dust, wax, polish, oil and other residue from the trunk surface so the adhesive can bond directly to the paint.
3. Test-Fit Before Removing Tape
Center the spoiler and confirm that both ends follow the trunk contour evenly before exposing any adhesive.
4. Prepare the 3M VHB
In cooler conditions, gently warm the adhesive before installation. Current manufacturer guidance specifies keeping heating below 40°C / 104°F.
5. Align & Press Firmly
Remove the backing gradually, place the spoiler using your alignment marks and apply even pressure across the entire adhesive area for at least 20–30 seconds.
6. Allow 48 Hours to Cure
Keep the installation area dry and avoid washing the vehicle for approximately 48 hours while the adhesive reaches a stronger bond.
Test-Fit Before Exposing the Adhesive
Always verify the vehicle version and spoiler alignment before removing the 3M backing. Once the adhesive makes full contact, repositioning can weaken the final bond.
Model Y Juniper Requires a Different Spoiler
This product's Model Y option is for the 2020–2025.02 body. The redesigned Model Y Juniper uses a separate vehicle-specific Performance Style spoiler and should not use this legacy Model Y version.
